Look beneath the surface.
Understand the economics, challenge assumptions and weigh the risks behind an investment idea.
Independent thinking. Personal advice.
We manage and advise on investment portfolios for founders, entrepreneurs and their families.
Fundamental research, thoughtful portfolio construction and personal advice. A clear view of what you own and the reasoning behind your investment decisions.

From the composition of a portfolio to a change in your financial life, we bring investment perspective to your priorities.
A considered approach to wealth tied to a business, employer or concentrated position. We help frame the investment questions around liquidity, diversification and long-term capital needs.
Independent analysis and recommendations for clients who want a partner in investment decisions. We assess opportunities in the context of your existing holdings and agreed objectives.
Portfolio management within an agreed mandate. Investment decisions reflect your goals, liquidity requirements and risk parameters, with client assets held at independent custodians.
Investment decisions rarely stand alone. Where the mandate calls for it, we coordinate with your external tax and legal advisers so that the portfolio is considered in its wider context.
The quality of advice depends on the depth of the work behind it.
We examine businesses, valuations and risks, then consider what they mean for your portfolio. Every recommendation starts with a question: does this serve your objectives?
That means understanding the whole picture – your existing holdings, liquidity needs, time horizon and tolerance for risk – before deciding what comes next.
Understand the economics, challenge assumptions and weigh the risks behind an investment idea.
Connect investment analysis to the opportunities, concentrations and constraints in your own wealth.
Clear recommendations, an open discussion of trade-offs and a relationship built around informed decisions.
Monterra Signal is our client platform. It brings your portfolio and our research together in one place: for every holding, what the company does, the KPIs that matter and the fundamentals behind why we own it.
Technology makes the work visible. Investment judgment remains the responsibility of the people advising you.

A clear relationship begins with understanding how your adviser works, where your assets are held and how decisions are made.
Client assets are held with independent custodians, separate from Monterra’s advisory business.
We’re paid by our clients and don’t receive commissions or payments from the products we recommend. For eligible clients who choose performance-linked fees, part of our compensation is tied to investment gains. When you do well, we share in that success.

Our founding story
Milan Pualic, CFA
Founder & Chief Investment Officer
While in private banking, I saw how many layers can sit between an investment decision and the client: products, approvals, committees, relationship teams. On the other hand, in the family office, I saw the opposite: how much investors benefit when the system is transparent and they can see what they own and why.
I believed a better solution was possible: one built on transparency, alignment and accountability. But it could only be built outside a large organization with layers of approvals and committees. So I founded Monterra.
We start with fundamental research and portfolio construction, and the people who make a recommendation own it and revisit it when the facts change. Our technology platform makes that visible, so you always have a clear view of your portfolio and the thinking behind it.
We’re paid by our clients and no one else, and for eligible clients, part of our fee is tied to performance. We do well when you do well.
